Back Up Your Blog or You Will Regret It!
There will come a time when your blog will crash! That is almost guaranteed. It may be due to hacking or possibly a conflict between different plug-ins etc. But the one thing you can be sure of is that at some point in time, as your blog grows, it will crash and if you don’t have a backup, well, you can guess the answer. But there is a simple and effective answer to this problem…..
Using WPTwin to Clone Your Blog
Over the last several months I’ve personally tried several plug-ins that purported to back up my blog entirely. Unfortunately, I have found this not to be the case. They just didn’t work for me. If they have worked for you, great. But if not, I have the solution for you. It’s WPTwin Cloning.
How Does WPTwin Work?
When you purchase WPTwin you will receive a zip file that you need to unzip. In that folder there are two files, wptwin.php and wptwindeploy.php. You need to use an FTP client like FileZilla to upload these two files to the root directory of your blog. This is real easy to do and can be seen in the video I’ve created for you.
Now, all you need to do to clone your blog is to go to your blog and type the following in the address bar: http://www.yoursite.com/wptwin.php. Follow the directions on the following page (they also provide a simple video that shows you exactly how to use this product) and click on CLICK ON TO CLONE THIS SITE button. Wait a few minutes and a downloadable zip file will appear. Just save it to you hard drive for future use should it become necessary.
Should you need to restore your blog, or clone it to another domain, all you need to do is go to that domain and type in the address bar: http://wwwyoursite.com/wptwindeploy.php. Follow the directions to use the file you created in order to deploy the cloned blog to the new domain.WPTwin will deploy everything from the original blog such as themes, posts, pages, plug-ins, comments etc. Everything!
Using WPTwin to Create Multiple Identical Blogs
If you are looking to create multiple blogs with similar, or identical, content or format, you can use WPTwin to create an original clone and then deploy that clone to as many new domains as you want. In just a matter of minutes you will have multiple blogs with the exact posts, pages, plug-ins etc. What I find important is to be able to install a new blog with all of the same plug-ins. It takes a great deal of time and effort to find just the right combination of plug-ins and now you are able to install all of them at one time to as many blogs as you want.
